Restgarth
Care Home is proud to announce the opening of its new Home
Care Service called Pine Lodge Home Care.
Our aim is to provide a local home care service
that meets the needs of the local elderly population. At the centre
of our philosophy of care is that we will recognize that our clients
all have differing needs and we will remain flexible in our approach
in meeting these needs. Clients will not only be involved in creating
a plan of care but in it’s implementation and regular review.
Registered with the Care Quality Commission
we are able to provide high quality care in the homes of elderly
people within the local area. Unlike most home care agencies we
can supply carers who have gained valuable caring experience by
working in our care home. As well as having experience many of
our staff are NVQ trained or have other care qualifications. Our
staff are known to us so we can ensure that they are fully competent
to perform the tasks that they are asked to carry out.
Pine Lodge Care is managed by Helen
Fuller who has successfully managed care homes in Liskeard,
Weston-Super-Mare and Bristol. She currently holds the `Care Managers
Award` among other qualifications. Helen will ensure that all
prospective clients will receive an assessment and a plan of the
care. She will also ensure that regular reviews are carried out
and that high standards of care are maintained. Working alongside
Pat Hughes, the manager of Restgarth Care Home, Helen can provide
`Re-ablement Care` to those living in the area.
Pine Lodge Care Director, Mr Jonathan Thrush
believes in the importance of care being provided by local organizations.
These organizations should be small enough to know the carers
that they employ and have a knowledge of local ways and the specific
needs of its population. Mr Thrush who has a Registered Nursing
background will be closely following the fortunes of this new
service and will be contributing with guidance on service compliance
and advice to carers and managers. |
Re-ablement
Care is a new initiative, supported by the Department
of Health, where a short stay in a care home is provided following
a hospital admission or illness at home.
The purpose of this is to allow the care staff
at Restgarth to offer a period of rest and recuperation but at
the same time assist in maintaining all the daily living skills
required when returning home.
A further benefit is that the same care staff
that helped to care in the care home can be part of the home care
visits. This way we can keep a continuity of care, thus reducing
the stress by having carers visiting that are already known by
their clients.
