Sue
Lord has lived in Polperro for 25 years and for the last 13 has been Head of Art and Design at Looe Community School. She was a Founder member of the Polperro Arts Foundation - a gallery which opened 2 years ago to encourage local artists and Arts within the community.
Andres
Foss was Head of Art at Hale School in Perth, Western Australia for 15 years.
Involved in Nautical Design and Technology for 16 years before coming to
Polperro and is now living in the village permanently|
Polperro artists Sue Lord and Andres Foss have launched
an exciting new arts venture in the village which will enable both
visitors and locals to try out and develop their artistic talents.
Located above the well known "The House on the Props"
restaurant in the heart of the village Polperro Art Studios is the
venue for a wide range of art workshop tutorials - Workshops vary from one to three or more days and are under the expert tuition of Sue Lord and Andres Foss. There are also evening workshops. All levels of ability are catered for in the programme, from beginners to expert. The studio overlooks Roman Bridge and Polperro Harbour. Numbers are kept low, with a max of 4/5 places for painting and printing courses and no more than 8 for calligraphy which means plenty of personal tutorial time. 3 different workshops are available each week.
