Welcome to your new home!The HomeRestgarth is a purpose built care home situated in a quiet sheltered position in the picturesque beauty spot of Polperro, set away from main roads.
The home is set in half an acre of mature grounds with a sheltered level patio area - sunbathing is optional! The babbling stream helps to promote the feeling of peace and tranquility. The proprietors live at the home and are always available to residents. We have 12 single rooms (some ensuite) and 2 ensuite doubles at present. Aims and ObjectivesThe aims and objectives of the home are to provide the residents with the best possible care, given in a safe, friendly and happy atmosphere.
The care team are selected not only for their individual experience and ability, but for their genuine desire to provide care and support to all residents for as long as required. Where possible residents are encouraged to be involved in shaping the environment they live in and continue with their proevious lifestyle supported by the care team. Our care assistants are fully qualified and experienced, to supervise residents individual care plans. The care team's skills are continually updated and improved, with an ongoing training programme to all NVQ levels. Both male and female residents are accepted regardless of religion or age. Short stay and respite care can be accepted. Facilities
All the bedrooms have wash basins with hot and cold water, central heating and emergency call system, as well as a TV and mobile telephone for convenience. There is a chair lift to the first floor and easy wheelchair access with hand rails. The dining room and lounge are tastefully decorated throughout for maximum comfort.
Residents may bring their own effects and furniture to make their rooms as homely as possible. Flexibility of care is always important, even when relaxing, so residents' privacy is respected at all times. Pets are accepted by arrangement There are visits from the chiropodist, mobile library and hairdresser, and the dentist and doctor call when required. Emphasis is not only given to the personal care of residents, but services such as physical occupational and speech therapy as well as other therapeutic programmes can be organised. We regularly organise theatre trips and other outings as well as catering for residents' chosen indoor pursuits such as arts and crafts, table games etc. to help them retain their independence. We are pleased to arrange shopping trips and church going. Meals are prepared for all tastes and special diets such as diabetic are catered for.
